Fallen Fruit

An exciting day today, well not really exciting, but interesting, for us. Boiler Man came first thing to give our boiler it's first yearly service, all is fine. Then Martyn arrived to carry on the work he's doing with our stairs. He's taken out the landing panelling and replaced it with white oak chamfered spindles, they look very nice. We're going to have the stair's handrail stripped and replaced with nice new fittings. Before doing any of that he was up in the loft putting very thick installation material down, oh yes and fitting a new landing light. On Monday he put a new internal roof in the porch where we had the asbestos removed when we first moved in; he's already done the garage roof when he fitted the new shower room.

Whilst Martyn was busy we went over to Shottery to dog sit my Hospice Shop's colleague's dog, Buffy. She's a pleasure to be with and it was nice to do a bit of dog walking too.

Following my fruit trail down the centre of the 21foot dining table at Packwood House yesterday this is a trail of fallen apples along a beech leaf hedge in the grounds of Stratford Girls' Grammar School that we saw today whilst walking Buffy.
