Chillesford Church

The sky was clear and the moon was up as we made our way to this little floodlit Church which stands above the road through the village. The church tower is 15th century and is one of only two built from Coralline Crag which was probably taken from a pit which is only a few yards away from the building. The other tower built from this material is at nearby Wantisden and the stone may well have come from the same pit.
