a day at the museum

We had an impromptu visit to the museum today... I decided that we needed to get out for a change of scene, because yesterday there was too much television going on... 

So we headed into town... It was nice catching up with my friends and introducing them to little un who was a bit overwhelmed and did her usual thing when she meets strangers, which is to stare right thought them and stop speaking altogether... but once the number of people thinned out and she found her feet, she soon started to get her confidence and her voice back... 

So we saw the elephant and the dinosaur and the animal galleries and the chinese dragon and the musical instruments,  and we had lunch in the cafe and then she came out clutching her two plastic dinosaurs from the shop and sat in the car talking to herself about all the things she'd seen,  until she completely conked out and started snoring... 

Then the rest of the afternoon was just spent quietly trying to keep things calm to help her consolidate the day's adventure...
