Outhouse!

I'm now staying at my cousins place. They live in a small town in the Manistee National Forest, near Muskegon.

Thankfully their house is adequately modern and I don't have to contend with any 'outhouse'. However, I did go for a walk in the forest behind their house this afternoon and stumbled across this derelict outhouse behind what was once a very beautiful Victorian house across the street. I thought it looked 'charming' in the snow, but I'm glad that I don't live in an era of this being the only option, especially in snowy conditions!  

It's been great to be here and to get some rest. I always feel like I can totally relax here. And we've been enjoying a Downton Abbey marathon!
