Betula utilis jacquemontii

This tree looks at it's best without leaves when the full whiteness of it's trunk and branches can be seen best. It is located in Dawyck Botanical Garden where I visited today both for a walk and to take advantage of their special Members Christmas Shopping day.  The Garden will be closing for winter from the end of this month till the 1st Feb. 2016.  You can see more pictures from today's visit here.
