Trolley Rails

Our trolley lines are getting new tracks, starting this summer and probably continuing well into the fall. The routes in this part of town went in 100 years ago, and around 15 years back the crews dug a trench around eight feet deep and replaced tracks and everything underneath them as well.

I've been surprised to see the welders going at it almost every day, on weekends or in the middle of a heat wave. Those cars must keep rolling! They do the work in a section two blocks long and then start another.
