Magali
This is Magali my lovely French masseuse at the hospital - there's nothing quite like a foot massage while having chemo. We had a good chat, although not in French today.
I was very tired as I woke up at 4am this morning and couldn't get back to sleep so I ended getting up at 5.30 and could have gone back to sleep when I needed to be getting ready, as my appointment is always 9am.
I had to start the steroids yesterday which always give me a hot flush and very rosy cheeks, and when they checked my temperature it was 37.7 so they were concerned it was a little on the high side. I hoped there wouldn't be a problem as I can't afford any postponements - my next cycle is 17th December and if it got postponed a week, my next one would be Christmas Eve which wouldn't be good!
Anyway, fortunately my blood test results were clear, I removed the wig to cool down and when they checked my temperature again it was down to 36.3 so it was all systems go!
Everything went fine and I was finished for 12.15pm, had lunch and Alan came to pick me up. I went upstairs and had a nap for 1.5 hours, and I'm feeling fine. I'll have an early night and will be back there for 9am tomorrow to start the herceptin. I'll be there for 6 hours tomorrow though, so it'll be a long day!
