Blue Sky at the end of the day
Finally a bit of blue sky at the end of the day. What a lot of rain we had overnight and this morning. I took this on the afternoon dog walk.
Harold my Shetland tup (ram) is very lame. After a wee check of his leg this morning I have left him out with his ewes hoping he will get better quickly as it looks to be a wee strain. If not I'm not sure what I will do as I don't have a standby tup for replacing him. Also one of my old ewes my first ever lamb from my own sheep died last night too. The trouble with sheep!!
Hamish and Callum (highland calves we are halter training) are getting used to being caught and released with their headcollars now. To put them on they have to go in a wee pen so they cant run away and they get a food reward in their buckets once they are caught. The plan is to make them like a horse where you can go up to them and put their halters on in a field.
Managed to finally finish my next unit of my diploma today its been weighing on my mind that I haven't had time to get on with it.
