Three Queens
No, not playing 3 card Brag or Poker, it's my £ coin collection.
Every year I save £1.00 coins in Steradent tubes to give to our 'Children' at Christmas.
Each tube holds 53, 54 at a push, coins so it's not such a bad present as it sounds. They do get other stuff as well, thanks to Marlane shopping for England.
I knew HM Queen Elizabeths' profile had been updated but hadn't really noticed until we were starting to polish the coins (see below). There are 3 very different depictions of Her Majesty in these three coins, I don't know if there were any other updates so I'll have to pay attention to the 'Pound in my Pocket' (I think it was Harold Wilson that 'coined' that expression saying that the pound in your pocket had not been devalued when his Labour government devalued the pound in 1967).
We noticed that some were very shiny but most were quite dull. Marlane thought it might be a good idea to use the Silver Dip cleaner to get the much off them.
Lesson learned today is that whatever £1 coins are made of it doesn't like silver dip! You can see some really badly marked coins from the dip.
We jointly cleaned them up with Autosol and a lot of rubbing.
I have almost filled 5 tubes, only about 3 short, so that will be 256 pounds when I finish the 5th tube.
