Playing with fire!

Last night I played with the Street Band accompanying the paper lantern parade at Ellesmere Winter Festival. It was pretty wet so I had to play my concertina inside a bag to keep it dry.

Father Christmas arrived by narrowboat on the canal. Sadly the crowds were too great (and I was too short) to get a shot of him.

I didn't get much opportunity to take photos as both hands were full but this is one of a fire eating street entertainer. One of the large puppets from the parade can be seen in the crowd as canone of the lanterns.

The evening concluded with the traditional visit to The White Hart where we had a music session.
