Shrewsbury Station

Not travelled from Shrewsbury station for over 30 years so it was a pleasant experience to do so again after so long a time. At the eastern end of the station is a large lever frame Signalbox at Severn Junction controlling many old semaphore signals, which will remain operational for a good few years to come.

We were on our way to the BBC Good Food Show at Birmingham NEC. A very enjoyable day too. Lots of samples, so we didn't need any lunch. Tried many excellent whiskies and plenty of cheeses, sausage, pork pies; indeed all manner of food and drink.

We had tickets to see Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood, from the Great British Bake Off Show, doing a cookery demonstration.
