Why thatching is no longer the last straw!!
There has been a remarkable revival in the art of thatching, a craft that 10 years ago was on the endangered list and is now very much back in demand. Thatched roofs, once a mark of poverty, have ironically become a 21st-century status symbol.
It certainly thrives in Northamptonshire and in other parts of the country. They can last about 40-60 years, but it does need regular maintenance. This one near to where I live will look great when it has finished.
