Green
I bought a bunch of chrysanthemums the other day - they were pretty cheap, and I liked the strong colour mix of green, white and ox-blood red. As I was trimming them to go into a vase a small bloom broke off one of the green stems, so I just popped it in a little glass by itself and put it on the kitchen windowsill. This flower is about 2cm across.
The weather has been so miserable today that it's felt like dusk since shortly after breakfast, and I decided that photographing something vibrant might lift my spirits. If I tell you that I took this in the middle of the day, by the french windows in the conservatory, and that I still needed a combination of ISO 1000, f/3.2 and 1/20 sec to get the shot, you'll see that I wasn't exaggerating about the light!
I'm going to try to catch up with as many journals as I can now, before going off to watch The Bridge and then get a (reasonably) early night; but before I disappear I wanted to let you know that I'll be doing one more week of Tiny Tuesday while WalkingWombat has a chat with the blipper she hopes will be taking over from me for the rest of December. If you'd like to have a go at hosting this challenge in the future, do get in touch with her - I'm sure she'd be happy to have a list of volunteers.
