Cromer
Sitting here this evening thinking about my day, ready to relay it to you, is like reliving the day again. It has been a lovely family day, so nice to do it twice!
I woke after 9 and got up at 10 (as I said I would yesterday) Jon made the tea, so I guess it's my turn tomorrow!
While he walked the dogs I did house jobs, then i had my first ride in his land rover when we took a drive to the next village (Matlaske - remember I blipped it a week or so ago?) The ride took me back to the days when we first got married and had a SWB with a canvas roof. Some good times & memories & this one is just as loud, bumpy and drafty!
While we were out the kids got all the Christmas stuff out - the lounge looked like a tinsel bomb had gone off in it when we got back.
We had lunch and drove the 10 minutes into Cromer. This has to be one of the most British seaside towns remaining in the country. Dominated in the middle by an amazing church. I am going to check out the carol service times. This view from the narrow road that goes down to the sea shows the character of Cromer & we love it. Some will say old fashioned & tacky. We say full of character & down to earth AND I love old fashioned!. We went down to the pier and booked 7 seats for the end of the pier Christmas Special. It will be a special Christmas for the five of us in Norfolk this year, so with my mum & dad this is going to be a fun traditional alternative to a panto. And a family day out.
We got home and tidied. After a home made 'sag poneer' made by Mollie to go with a Morrison's korma, (all nice) the 3 of them have gone out to see a film in Cromer. It isn't my thing and I can't even remember what it's called. They are young people who kill each other until there are just 1 or 2 left from a certain tribe type thing. I think that's it. Why would you go and watch that when Dad's Army is on the TV for free!?!? Lol. They love their films!
So I'm here. I've got a nice cup of tea, I've finished the apple crumble and I'm thinking about watching Sex in the City 2 ( I did try watching it once before, but I fell asleep...I'm not good at films)
Enjoy your Saturday evening everyone. I am :-)
