Absent friends

A b..... awful day here today, even the boys didn't want to go for a walk as the rain battered the windows begging to be let in.

But we had guests arriving here this evening for dinner. LC and TP were returning home after a week in balmy Keswick and we had offered to feed them on their return.

CP had been slaving away since early morning trying to make it  a perfect  evening and she had done a pretty good job too and when this shot was taken they were knocking on the door.

It all turned out rather well, the food was quite delicious and LC brought a sumptuous Shiraz from Australia for us to sample.
