Reinventing the wheel
After 2 and a half hours in a jam, finally arrived at the festival of speed. I haven't been in a few years, the first time was in 2002, last in 2008, and it's got a LOAD bigger since then. It's now a combined motorshow and hill climb - better when it was just a hill climb I think. Get to see the modern and older F1 cars, and can get up really close to historic cars in cathedral paddock - highlight for me. Awesome day out, but I think I'll look for something smaller next year.
This is a wheel on display by Michelin, which has in the centre a brake, electric motor, suspension, and (this may be incorrect) a means of harvesting energy from the suspension movement. Clever stuff!
I originally blipped this Lotus, but decided the wheel is more interesting.
