Messy
The letter 'M' was today's vague choice. Hmmmm... what to do? I didn't have any immediate thoughts. I pondered over things in my home that start with that letter. 'Map'....errrm...didn't get much past that. I thought about the 'M' Scrabble tile. I thought 'Motivation'. How would I get that on camera?
Whilst still snuggled under my duvet, I saw that one of my fellow challengees (Is that a word?) had blipped. You can imagine my instant reaction after reading her blurb. Yep, I blubbed. Again. It's a regular thing lately but slowly becoming less regular, I'm glad to say.
Anyway, after getting out of bed I put on the kettle and made toast and thought to myself. This place is a mess, I need to sort it out. Lightbulb moment. There's my 'M'; the messy view in front of me. If you delve a little deeper in to the view, it reveals a lot, besides the obvious fact that I haven't done any housework in a few days. I have food and drink, therefore, I have money to buy these. I have a roof over my head. I have security. Also, in the picture are some things from friends: the stupid card at the back, the shisha coals, the postcard on the right that someone sent from France to let me know they're thinking of me.
The other day I mentioned Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs. Considering the things in this photo, I'm pretty lucky. I totally appreciate what I have and am thankful for it. Yes, things could be better than they have been lately, but can't we all say that at some point?
I have some things to look forward to though, plans for next year. Ideas that I'm working on. Who knows what the future holds?
Let's just see what happens, eh?
