Sunrise in Nepal

'Do you think we shall see world peace in our time?' asked a Nepalese man of me at about 6.20am as we stood high up watching the sun rise over the Annapurna mountains.

'No' was my reply. 'And to be honest, if I was God - and I'm not - and I looked down and saw all this beauty I had created and saw all the horrible things that people were doing I'd wonder why I'd bothered'

He smiled, and said 'Well, if I pray for peace will you hope for it?'
'Of course' was my reply.

It was then that I noticed there was a Peace Pillar a little way from where we stood (see 'extra').

It's been an incredible trip and I feel so fortunate to have been able to make it.
