Lavaux from La Louve
My cousin took us out on onto Lac Leman in her fantastic boat today. The boat is older than me (not giving much away there!) and is just a joy with lots of wood and cubby holes! Much nicer than these modern white jobs.
This is a view looking north onto the UNESCO World Heritage Site vineyards between Lausanne and Vevey. The work that must have gone into creating these terraces must have been phenomenal - especially when they trace back to almost a thousand years ago. There are some fantastic buildings in among them too, some of which almost seem to be sprouting out of the rock.
We had a swim to cool down and a lovely picnic while we were out there and wine, including some red wine from the Lavaux vineyards.
Great day!
