Bristol Climate Change March

This once grassed area is College Green, in front of the Bristol City Council offices, and the Climate Change March ended here this afternoon. There have been Climate Change Marches all over the world today, to coincide with the United nations Climate Change Conference which began today in Paris.

About three to four thousand people took part in the Bristol march, including a few who were very much against nuclear power, which some might argue is one of the best means of generating power without additional climate changing carbon emissions (but admittedly with some very serious environmental issues all of its own!)

The extra shows Theo Simon addressing the crowded assembly. Theo is one of the members of Seize the Day, a fab eco-protest folk rock group who have played for us at Druid Camp on a number of occasions and are all lovely people. As you can see, it was really foul weather, and to get so many dedicated folk out on the street was wonderful.

We also had a splendid museum visit and lunch with my eldest, and it was interesting to see once again the exhibits in Death: A Human Experience... so much I missed the first time around. And of course always great to see Cheryl. :-)
