Velodrome, Meadowbank #2
A day of plodding about town, gathering bits here and there.
A butter nut squash and kidney beans from Lidl, a remote control from B&M, tea bags from Sainsbury's, 2 red peppers and goat's cheese from Asda. Oh, and a jumper and a hoodie. (Have you seen this episode of Ready Steady Cigs before? Brian Turner plays a blinder)
And so as the light faded and the rain abated for ten minutes from tropical downpour to heavy, we jumped the fence (well, I did, the Ciglettes kept watch; they have code words they yell if various unwanted bystanders appear. They're 21st Century Faganesque)
Grey paint on wooden turnstile surround (I know; words you don't hear very often, even in WorldofCigs....) Undated but presumably recent like the rest of the stuff around here.
We retired back to CigsHQ for roasted gammon, cauliflower cheese, some roast potatoes and a smattering of mushrooms.
I may have some explaining to do at the doctor's this week.
"And how did you first notice your ankle was sore?"
"Eh when I jumped back out over the fence fae the velodrome... I hud tae outrun the security boy, ken..."
