A bit choppy
Tempting as it was to stay in this afternoon and watch Andy Murray win the Davis Cup for GB, Mr DawnAgain and I decided instead to head out for some fresh air at the beach. And fresh it certainly was down at Bracklesham Bay where it was blowing a gale. It was hard to stand up, let alone hold a camera steady, but that didn't stop us trying. And, in fact, everyone who drove into the car park stood and did the same; it was quite comical.
At one point a guy with an Aussie accent came up to me and asked if I would mind taking a photo of him with the sea in the background. I said I'd be happy to and then he said he'd be right back once he'd changed into his wet suit...he duly returned from his transit van a couple of minutes later in a bright blue wet suit in bare feet clutching a surf board. I took a few pictures of him with his phone camera and eventually got the one he was hoping for. Originally he had hoped to be pictured also holding a large piece of white cardboard (to photoshop some text on to later, apparently) that he had brought with him but we both agreed that wasn't going to work in the weather conditions. Anyway, he thanked me and said he was off a little further down the beach to actually go surfing. Crazy man.
By this stage my hands were getting cold so Mr DawnAgain and I retired to Billy's cafe for hot drinks and a bite to eat. You couldn't tell from outside but Billy's was completely heaving with people having a jolly time in the warm. I had a cream tea, which was very nice.
We returned home via a quick stop-off at Chichester Marina where I saw my first black swan.
