Crow Country

H put me onto the book by Mark Cocker some months ago. Trusting his judgement I sought out a copy and my best beloved scooped it up and read it first. Other weighty tomes came and went. At last I started it last week. It's a beautiful book. It's a prose poem about these very fields I inhabit and thoroughly recommended to anyone who thinks Norfolk, flat and boring, uninteresting. The book follows the author's obsession with crows, rooks especially, but covers the history of Broadland and some witty asides about the life of a naturalist.
