After the storm

Yesterday's stormy weather certainly did cause a bit of bother, with power cuts, flooded roads and trees down all over the place.
We found our way blocked whilst out on a walk today as there were several trees across the road. There was a team of tree surgeons at work cutting, removing and burning some of the debris. At least three large trees had come down (see extra photo), taking some of the old iron fence with them too. Their roots must have been unable to hold them in the saturated ground. We were forced to make a lengthy diversion up hill and down dale (literally), but fortunately we made it to the pub in time for a tasty lunch.
