Familiar in Snowy Climates
One of those days I don't feel like going for a long walk... At 10 in the morning it is 23 F / -5 C and dark enough to keep some of the automatic parking lot lights on.
I also know when it is this dark the zoom I have just doesn't work so I took a walk around the block and nothing really stood out. I had a few dots of birds at a distance, a few trees but some people who live in warm climates may never have seen a fire hydrant with a pole on it.
Sometime around January the snow piled up near many fire hydrants around here will have snow piled up around them causing a big hazard if you didn't know exactly where there were if a fire was to occur. So they attach these poles so you always know...
