Veterans-day 2012

Old buddies in arms meeting one another again at Veterans' Day in Den Haag; these men here ever served in New Guinea some 50 years ago.

since the death of prince Bernhard in 2004 there's no military parading of WW II veterans at Wageningen anymore, instead an annual Veterans' Day in Den Haag started in 2005 and the grandson prince Willem-Alexander now salutes the troupes of veterans that served as warriors or peacekeepers ever since 1940

the veterans appreciate this day of glory a lot; with reunions with buddies and respect from the officials and royals and applause from the public
Today's veterans are of all ages and of both sexes and altho' many of the younger generation served as peacekeeper under the UN flag several of them returned home mamed and they rolled on in their wheelchair here as well and rightly so!
