Greyest of days

It has been one of those days where it really doesn't seem to have ever got light before it starts going dark again. A fairly manic Monday with lots to fit in this week. Three lessons taught back to back, duty day done, a student at lunch and two meetings this afternoon meant for little time to draw breath. 

I did manage to remember to bring home the first instalment of my Christmas shopping done online at the weekend. Although this is actually a present for me in the guise of more research for Carol Concert readings: Carol Ann Duffy's The Wren Boys with lovely illustrations by Dermot Flynn. I'm not sure that this will be included but I have certainly enjoyed reading it this evening, not least for Duffy's  capacity to use just the right words, all packed together in this instance. It certainly off-set some of the frustrations of an aborted attempt to collect an order made last Thursday. Fingers crossed that tomorrow will bring better results and at least the customer service was up to the usual standard and the Christmas shopping list is almost complete.
