Down the Malt

We are both feeling shattered so it didn't take much persuasion to suggest to Tony that we avoid cooking and washing up tonight by eating out.  I had lunch with a friend at The Malt just after it re-opened following its refurbishment and we weren't overly impressed with the quality of the food, but we decided to give it another try this evening and were very pleasantly surprised.  Tony had steak and ale pie and I had the cottage pie and they were both well cooked and tasty, so there you go!  It was quite empty when we first arrived, being early in the evening but by the time we left it was buzzing with a number of locals and diners.  Good to see a local service doing well on a Tuesday night.
