Rainy Day Blues

We awoke this morning to rain and heavy mists, a condition that is quite unusual for us.  I went very early to the park with umbrella, rain slicker and camera hoping to capture a misty scene.  I was only part way around the pond when the mist suddenly lifted so that photo op was missed. 

As I reached the pond, however, I distinctly heard the Kingfisher.  Once you have heard their call, it is quite unmistakeable.  Of course, I did not have the right lens, once again, but under these weather conditions, it would have been nearly impossible to find, anyway.  I am encouraged to know that it frequents our location and I will definitely go after it on a clear morning.

On the way back, I saw many of these beautiful wet ornamental Maple leaves, resting on the footbridge. It seemed appropriate for the day and I am pleased to have my blip done before 10 am.
