First Of The Month

Every month on the first day the lines for ATM machines extend around the block. Mexico in general, and Zihuatanejo in particular, is cash based, so the lines to withdraw funds grow exponentially on the first and again to a lessor extent on the fifteenth. This is a common scene outside most of the banks in town. My bank, however, does not suffer this long a line, the most I have ever seen is half a dozen, but I try to avoid getting money regardless as I don't have the patience of the Mexican people and don't like waiting for even one person (some American traits are hard to shake).
