Happy Canada Day!
Canada turns 145 today. It is a wonderful country with so much to see. Linda and I happened to be at Walmart here in Aurora (Ontario, Canada). Yes, the uber-American store has fully invaded Canada. At the checkout were these reusable bags which were kitschy so we bought two. One for us, one for my Canadian cousin in San Jose, California. I'm pretty sure her local Walmarts are not carrying this particular bag featuring typical Canadian icons. The moose is at centre, from the 1 o'clock position going clockwise are the Peggy's Cove lighthouse, autumn maple leaves, an inukshuk, a beaver, a log-driving lumberjack (perhaps a nod to the Log Driver's Waltz), and a totem pole. We did not need more bags. We must have 30 of these but this one was a must-have just for fun.
It is a gorgeous day, today - about as perfect as one could hope for. If it stays this way the fireworks all around the region tonight should be wonderful.
