Charles Henry Ashley
Today we returned home from our walking holiday on Anglesey, so knowing that much of the day would be spent travelling we took a short walk first thing to the harbour at Cemaes.
We had noticed this lovely restored lifeboat the day before and thought it would make a good subject for a blip. She was built in 1907 and was in service until 1932, retired because she was non self righting. She was in various private hands after this but ultimately suffered from neglect and came close to being destroyed in the 1990s.
After a lot of effort from a very dedicated restoration trust she was renovated in 2008 and returned to Cemaes. You can read a lot more about it here.
