Nearly Home
I reckon I was too quick to moan about the lack of finding blips when working from home yesterday... I'd wandered up the town today to get some festive shots, and I was happy with them. But on finishing work and watching the traffic heading up Dundas Street not move in 15 minutes, which is where the bus I was waiting for would try and go up, I decided for once to get a taxi to my car... which worked pretty well considering.
After collecting Ms H in the pouring rain, we got out the city fine but seeing the snow coming down rapidly I wanted to avoid the traffic to the east. We must have spent about an hour on various roads south towards Penicuik with no movement so eventually headed back to the bypass, through the country route home.
I had thought I should have went on the A7 but later heard it was choice too so glad I didn't! We passed abandoned cars all the way on the wee roads, some people just sitting with the cars running waiting... stuck on hills or at the bottom of hills. I don't quite remember it being like this before - it took 3 hours door to door!! It seems all main roads to the borders are closed.
So the rain will come tomorrow and it will be all gone, and I thought I would change my blip as we've not had much snow in the past 2 years. This is the same view a few weeks ago! So, save the festive blips for another day... bah..
