Some days, blips are hard to come by, and this was one of them. I took a few photos while doing errands, but none resonated with me, so this afternoon, just before all daylight left the living room, I played a bit with the "watercolor" and "illustration" applications on my little Sony RX-100.
This is one of many leaves that fell from the Japanese Maple in our back yard a few months ago. I saved only this leaf, and like the way it looks in this little golden dish. I've enjoyed moving my tiny still life to a variety of locations in the house, depending on the light and what horizontal surfaces were clear at the time.
Small pleasures and rituals mean even more to me now, with what seems like endless disorder, disruption, and dis-ease becoming the norm, apparently. I'm deeply grateful for all of you!
