2015 Thursday -- Time to Look Up

Hoping for something beautiful on this very sad day and look -- I'm thanking God Who reminds me often to look up.

Philippians 4:8 "Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things."

Earlier I had posted this on my Facebook page:

At 1:30 this afternoon the email below was sent to all the employees of the Riverside Community College District. Please pray for this family.

Isn't it time for America to recognize what's happening? A man and wife who have a houseful and garage full of bombs were not committing "work place violence." Will the media tell the truth about this tragic event?

Many of America's leaders are calling for stricter gun control. How would that have changed yesterday's news?

The San Bernardino Police chief Jarrod Burguan reported "the shooters had over 1,600 bullets with them when they were gunned down in their SUV and nearly 5,000 more rounds of ammunition at their home."

Somehow it seems as though the safety of Americans is NOT a top priority of America's current leaders. What is? Confiscating all of America's guns? Not offending someone? Being politically correct?

So Americans should defend themselves with good thoughts? With bouquets of flowers? I've never been pro-guns, but I haven't been anti-guns either.

I didn't post this to start a debate. So please don't. Today I'm just very sad.

It is with profound sadness that I share with you that Veneta Betnadal, beloved wife of Arlen Verdehyou, RCCD police and safety officer was one of the victims in the shooting at the Inland Regional Center in San Bernardino yesterday. Arlen is with his family, his wife’s family and RCCD police personnel. His wife is survived by Arlen, their three children, and her family. Please keep the Verdehyou and Betnadal families in your thoughts.
