'Christmas Magic at Batemans'

A beautiful clear morning...so glad we got out early to visit Bateman's Nat.Trust ...home of Rudyard Kipling......the weather changed in the afternoon. The upstairs of the house was closed due to vital work being carried out ....signs saying 'Do not disturb the Elves working upstairs'. We had our favourite Welsh Rarebit for lunch. A wonderful elderly gentleman steward telling stories of Christmas past. The clock on the right of the Christmas tree dates back to 1630 and is still in perfect working order.
