A Stable Future?
Once a month, a nearby racing stable holds an open morning for locals and people who own, or who may be interested in buying, a share in a racehorse. This morning I went up there along with C (Nikonabike) and Technophobe (I'd like to point out at this stage that we went as locals, not as people who were going to buy an equine leg).
It was extremely blustery up there (it's on the top of a hill overlooking our village) so quite chilly, but very interesting.
We were introduced to quite a few horses and their riders, but Thomas Crapper was the one that stuck in our memories (that is a horse, not a rider).
The light wasn't brilliant, and, of course, the horses were going like the clappers at times - that's my excuse, and I'm sticking to it - so it was quite difficult getting anything in focus. I liked this one as the horses' tails are all blowing in the same direction.
I've put a few extras up too.
After being out in the paddocks we were treated to mulled wine, and coffee and cake (the first of several coffee and cake opportunities of the day).
