Harder than it looks.
Had to pop and pick up a few parcels this morning - a Christmas present for Mom, and Stus gift for the game at the family party Saturday. I did want to stop at the shop and get a wreath for the front door, but Stu said I was just delaying doing work at the house so I left it. When we did finally get to the house I realised I had left the door key at home (I did not do this on purpose), so we had to drive back to pick it up. We were both quite tempted to stay in the warm and give it a miss, but decided we would do a few hours.
I have done much more today than I thought I would, and have taken loads of the plaster off the wall in what will be our bedroom. I managed to get all the bottom half of the plaster off (hitting my hand several times with the hammer), but the top section does not want to budge. I'm not sure what it is but it's solid. I think I'm going to have to admit defeat and ask Stu to do the rest. Stu has broken up the old solid concrete lintel which we replaced with the steel RSJ. Inside the lintel he found four sash window weights, a bike chain set, brackets and bits of metal pipe. Random or what!
After a good few hours we headed back home. Jeff and Julie have arrived so we are all going to have a nice night in with a curry!
