We camped wild beside a lake, got chewed by hordes of sand flies, and saw no-one till we dropped back down to civilisation at the Walter Peak sheep station, and ferry across to Queenstown.

Likely our last backcountry experience before we head home on New Years Day. It's back onto the tourist trail up the West Coast and to Abel Tasman for Crimbo.
