50's British Summer

It's the last day of my week off and the National Trust at Hatchland's Park near Guildford was holding a 50's Fete - should be interesting.

The weather had other thoughts.

There was the brass band, fortunately under cover, valiantly playing to the small audience determined to show their appreciation whatever the weather.

The Punch and Judy Man had less success, though the adjacent Wellie Throwing stall seemed more appropriate.

It wasn't a total washout as the house is worth a visit, especially if you have an interest in keyboard instruments. It holds the Cobb collection which includes pianos owned by JC Bach, Chopin, Elgar and Mahler.

I also managed a pleasant walk around the estate between the showers.

Harking back to the fifties theme I applied a retro process to todays blip of the aforementioned brass band and audience
