Socks and slogans
Is this the future, a la Blipfuture? Time will tell.
In fact, this is one of the slogan from Stroud Trefoil's Christmas tree in St Laurence's church. (see last Sunday's blip). I'd never heard of Trefoil as such, but it's the goodwill and muscle behind the worldwide girl guiding movement.. http://www.girlguidingstroudandtetbury.org.uk/about/the-trefoil-guild
I liked their slogan.
Mostly I stayed in bed, knackered after having been up and about for all of Friday. The most energetic thing I did was sort out my sock drawer. I don't seem to be able to think any more. I did try to take a picture of socks, but my attempts were not successful. This one isn't, either...
Why socks?
The refugee support group says they are desparate for warm socks to take to Calais and beyond, because they are not often donated. I wouldn't have thought anyone would want second hand socks, but I've found a few chunky pairs that I don't wear with my everyday trainers. They can always be made into puppets or sofa stuffing if they turn out to be no good for the convoys.
Tanya said she saw a refugee being interviewed in Greece last summer. He had recently arrived, and said he hoped Britain would be a lot warmer than Greece, if or when he got there. That was on Kos, in summer. I fear he may be very, very cold by now.
