The picture taker

I marshalled at the Bewl 15 race today, a 15-mile round-the-reservoir run that has become one of the country's favourite events. Organised by the club I've been a member of since 1999 when there were 12 members and a dog. Now we have 100+ members and this race is our showcase. The weather was dramatic: rain, intense sun, wind, and those nasty bitey things that hang around reservoirs. Nevertheless, I ran 4 miles to my station at the end of the dam, shepherded 700+ runners through on their way, then ran back 4 miles to greet them at the finish line.
