Skating pond

Another winner of a day - wall to wall sunshine! After a morning of work and house chores it was time to get out and enjoy the day. Having watched the artificial snow machines in full action and the pistes being laid (see extra for downhill and cross-country) I set off to try out the 2km stetch on my classic skies. It was quiet and relaxed and nice to feel the season is starting, albeit slowly! A bit of fresh air and exercise was just what I needed. The main shot is of a pond in the shadier part of the valley which has obviously been used for skating as the main rinks are not yet ready.
