At the Nutcracker
All 10 of us went to the new Nutcracker Ballet production this afternoon. The rains let up for H and I to walk…every one was early so we took a few photos on the way in before the battery on my new camera died. (yes, I sent for another but it hasn't arrived but I had my trusty iPhone..) This was the first year for the Ian Falconer Production (of “Olivia” books fame) We were used to the Maurice Sendak version since the 1980s. This was lighter and perhaps more childlike with great costuming.. it seemed shorter too…and I did like the video in the beginning of flying over the snowy forest to the house....., but we missed the shock of the cannon going off very loudly against the mouse King. Might be the last time for me —so of course I have to blip the grandkids…by the big tree in the Opera House lobby. Love all the shoes. Fiona has a new haircut and red nails and of course "Rexie" got to come. I think Oskar stole the show with his “James Bond” suit —(he’s trying to get those sleeves just right) and will get to a few more on a flickr page for family..(including some other wee patrons....)
