Christmas Card 6 - Bear

The two generals met, secretly, in No-Man's Land. They talked all through the icy night, drinking schnapps to keep warm. As dawn broke, they toasted their Peace Agreement and headed back to their respective lines.

The older of the two generals did not reach his destination. Cold, tired and a little tipsy, he stumbled off the safe route and stepped on one of his own mines.

His staff refused to believe that he would have agreed to the peace deal as reported by the younger general and the War continued for two more years.

All the Christmas cards hung from crepe paper.
