The only aircraft flying today

Today was yet another grotty weather day for GA with winds being off-limits for the aircraft. Frustrating day for instructors, staff and students alike with all slots, bar ground school cancelled. The only aircraft which ‘flew’ today was the model of the Yak which was made for our wedding. It had been sitting at home for nearly 3 months now whilst we decided the best place to put it and didn’t really find one due to the size and layout of the house. So we decided it might be best suited to the flying club seeing as they have space, and more people can enjoy it. The radio room seemed a good option as it is away from ‘little fingers’ but still on show!


I took advantage of the quiet radio due weather to get all my Christmas cards written, so that was one little job crossed off on my list – phew! We also got an early go today which was handy because we were going out for dinner with my dad and sister this evening. Lovely meal in a local pub, but the service left a bit to be desired, especially the 40 minute wait for the starter to arrive!! It is twice we have used the pub and twice the service has been poor … not sure we will be going back for a third time!
