The Auckland Skytower

We both woke up really early this morning as our bodies still have not properly adjusted to the jet lag, so we went out to see what we could find at 5am in the morning. It was still really dark so I managed to get this photo of the iconic Auckland Skytower festively lit up. We then went to watch sunrise across the bay that I featured in my Blip yesterday, where we were joined by a couple of paddle boarders who were also enjoying the quiet morning. On the way back to our apartment we stopped at a cafe to grab some breakfast, then caught up on some extra sleep. 
Sadly though during the morning we had to report a case of domestic violence against the upstairs residence, who was beating his pregnant girlfriend. We went to a pay phone on the main road to call the police, who arrived a bit later, while we decided to keep out the way at the same cafe we had breakfast that morning.

The rest of the day was spent sorting photos and GoPro videos from Singapore, to try and get some semblance of order. We even made a short 5 minute video of our time around the city - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jU0Bpb_Duvc
