RIP magnificent oak

The storms have been horrendous here lately and lots of trees have bitten the dust.

Out for a ride exploring new bridleways and lanes, we stumbled on this magnificent oak that had fallen across the path. Someone had cut away and removed the section blocking the way and it was rather sad to see the skeleton of what was once a most magnificent oak, hundreds of years old, now snapped and broken and fallen.

The power of those storms frightens me!

But think about all that firewood :-o
