Today's the day ......................... to be in the news

There's been a fair few of these up in the sky today - circling around and no doubt getting some film footage.

It's good that they have, because we need all the publicity possible to get across the scale of the disaster that happened so quickly in this part of the country over the weekend.  On a positive note, it seemed that Kendalians were out in force today - being as cheerful as they could and trying to get life back to normal.  The response from locals, eager to do anything to help, has been fantastic.  A disaster fund has been started - and if you feel like donating you can find details here. 

It's likely to take a while yet before things get anywhere near normal again ............................
