Just a Soggy Sunday
No bike ride today, well outside that is. Its pouring down and windy.
Last year we bought a Turbo Trainer, so I get it out of the box and set it up. A quick dash to the shed to get my bike. I need to change the quick release as the trainer has a special one to hold the rear axle on to the roller.
Setting up the GPS to work is a doddle. There are a couple of adjustments to be made as the wheel doesn't quite make proper contact with the roller. Its either too much, and so there is a lot of resistance. Or the contact is too loose and it feels like I'm riding on ice.
I do about 22km in two sessions. Not too bad, but a bit boring. I do get my picture taken while on the bike. At the end of the session, I am impressed how small it folds down to. Why did it need such a big box then?
After a shower, during coffee, and at the recommendation of another cyclist, I buy an ANT+ USB dongle to plug in to the computer so I can do some virtual training via the laptop.
During lunch, I notice this leaf stuck to the rear door, so I decide that would be nice blip. Not perfect, a bit of camera shake I'm afraid.
After lunch, partner and I head out to Newington. The rain stops just as we get there, so wandering around the charity shops isn't too bad. Not much catches our eye, so it doesn't take long. In fact there's not even An early coffee break then.
